Privacy Policy

Risk, Response and Rescue Pty Ltd (RR+R), RTO 90774, handles personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. As a registered training organisation we also have obligations under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (Cth), the Student Identifiers Act 2014 (Cth) and the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2025.

What we collect.

For participants:

  • your name
  • contact details and address
  • date of birth
  • Unique Student Identifier
  • identification details
  • employment and educational background
  • the demographic details government reporting requires 
  • your training and assessment records
  • and payment or eligibility details.

For everyone else:

  • your name
  • contact details
  • billing address
  • payment details
  • and whatever you send us in an enquiry or job application.

When you use our website, your IP address, browser, device and the pages you view.

How we hold it.

In secure electronic systems and, where paper records exist, in locked storage, protected by encryption, firewalls, access controls, restricted staff access and staff training. We keep records only as long as we need them or the law requires.

Why we use it.

To process your enrolment or order, deliver and assess training, issue qualifications, support you, respond to enquiries, assess job applications, run and secure our website, and meet our legal and reporting obligations.

We may send you information about our courses. Every message includes an opt-out.

Who we disclose it to.

We do not sell your information.

If you undertake nationally recognised training with us, we are required by law to report your training activity, including personal details, to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), and where your training is subsidised, to the relevant state or territory training authority. NCVER may disclose that information to the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and other authorities dealing with VET. The Australian Skills Quality Authority may access your student file when monitoring our registration.

Where you ask us to create a Unique Student Identifier for you, we apply in accordance with the Student Identifiers Act 2014 and securely destroy your identification documents as soon as practicable afterwards.

We also share information with service providers who help us operate, such as our student management system, payment, IT and email providers, and only as far as needed to deliver that service. They cannot use it for their own purposes.

Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card details.

Otherwise, we disclose only where you give permission, where the law requires it, or where necessary to lessen or prevent a serious threat to the life, health or safety of any individual. We will not release your results or contact details to anyone else, including family members, without your consent.

Access, correction and complaints.

Email us to see or correct your information. We may ask for photo identification. We provide access and action corrections at no cost. If we refuse access, we will tell you in writing with our reasons.
