DESCRIPTION:
This program provides the skills and knowledge required to provide basic life support until the arrival of medical or other assistance. It focuses on providing participants with the competency and confidence to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in an emergency in line with the ANZCOR Guidelines as endorsed by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).
Note: CPR training must be updated every 12 months
COURSE OUTLINE:
- Assess the incident scene
- Conduct D-R-S-A-B-C-D
- Provide CPR on adults, children and babies
- Roll patient into recovery position
- Handover to medical personnel
- Manage a choking patient
DURATION:
3 Hours Face to face or Online theory + 2.5 hour practical
CERTIFICATION:
Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by RISK RESPONSE AND RESCUE (RTO 90774)

PRE-REQUISITE REQUIREMENTS:
Participants are required to be physically capable of performing at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor to be assessed in this unit of competency.

- Appropriate clothing and enclosed footwear
