NSW Government Smart & Skilled Funding

Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. It's helping people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers.

Risk Response and Rescue Pty Limited (RTO #90774) is an approved provider under NSW Government Smart & Skilled Funding.

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government, and provide the opportunity to apply for funding for Nationally Accredited short courses as well as partially subsidised full qualifications.

Smart & Skilled and Skilling for Recovery initiatives focus on training to help people develop the skills they need to obtain employment, undertake entry level qualifications, up-skill in a specific area and/or transition into a new job role.

• people at risk of unemployment.

Definition of "at risk of unemployment"
• Stood down/Jobkeeper/furloughed employee: employee who has been stood down or employee for whom employer has Jobkeeper arrangement in place and at risk of becoming unemployed.
• Person returning to work (employed for 6 months or less): employed on condition of receiving training to build capacity and capability for the job role. This would be within the first 6 months of employment.
• Low skilled/unskilled employee: existing employee, that requires training to up skill to secure ongoing employment or future employment, regardless if they have the relevant skills or previous qualification up to Certificate III.
• Workers in declining industries: workers at any company in an agreed declining industry who require upskilling/reskilling for redeployment. Note: So if an existing employee has a Certificate III and requires upskilling to secure ongoing or future employment, then they meet the SFR category of an employed person who is ‘expected to become unemployed’.

In addition to the above qualifications, RR+R are able to apply for individual units of competency on behalf of our clients. Having training partially or fully subsidised by the NSW Government gives our clients the opportunity to reduce their training budgets whilst up-skilling their workforce.
